

Passed away on June 29, 2009 at the Hill House Hospice at the age of 50 after a courageous five month battle with brain cancer. Varujan, VA as most of his family and friends fondly called him, was a loving soul mate to his wife Hera for 29 years and loving and devoted father to his two boys Aren, Evan and daughter in-law Araz. VA was first and foremost a dedicated family man having close bonds with his parents Kirkor and Zepur, father in-law Rupen and mother in-law Mari, brother Arman, sister Sonia, brother in-laws Haygo, Eric and Gerald, sister in-laws Suzie and Lisa,nieces and nephews Kayla, Alex, Alina,Marcus, Lucas, Daniel and Nicole. VA cherished the many friendships he had and will be sadly missed by all those lives he touched with his joyful manner and the big warm smile that he always carried. The Canadian jewellery industry has lost a strong respected leader who will be remembered fondly by his many peers and business associates. His family and friends cannot thank the staff of Hill House Hospice enough for the warm attention and care VA received during his final days. In his last few months VA often quoted the following words "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, Dream as if you'll live forever". A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church (920 Progress Avenue). Burial to follow at York Cemetery.
