Mr. Walter Reid Kennedy

Walter was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, adored grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Beloved husband of Audrey. Cherished father of James (Maria Caterina). Fond and caring grandfather of Connor.

Walter was born August 14, 1929 in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. He served with the Irish Guards for 5 years and spent time in Germany after World War II. Walter relocated to Canada, he worked with the Toronto District School Board and later proudly served with the Royal Regiment of Canada for 18 years. He continued to serve with the Regiment as a volunteer for many more years.

Walter was an honest and reliable man with a pleasant personality and a sense of humour. He loved children and enjoyed a cup of coffee. Walter will forever be missed by his family and friends both here in Canada and Ireland.

The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at Fairview Lodge for their compassionate care. A private committal service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Beechwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region in memory of Walter Reid Kennedy.
