

Bill passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 15 supported by his family, which he loved very much. Pre-deceased by his wife Jean, Bill will be deeply missed by his children David, James, Anne, John, Patricia, Robert, Kathleen and Paul; his 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bill led a full life that included four years in WWII as a radar officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, serving in North Atlantic and Mediterranean theatres. He graduated top of the University of Toronto class of ’47 in aeronautical engineering and applied physics. He had an exceptional career in the aviation industry with the DeHavilland Aircraft Co. (now Bombardier) where he was a design engineer and for many years, vice-president engineering. Bill was a passionate patron of the arts. He loved opera, ballet, the symphony and theatre. He was a talented wood-worker and is famous for his incredibly life-like rocking horses. He also created numerous board games. Bill was an outgoing, extremely generous, patient man with a great sense of humour. He will be remembered fondly by everyone who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service and celebration of Bill's life will be held for extended family and friends 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 12 at the King City United Church, King City, ON.
