

Bill passed away on the morning of his 95th birthday - Saturday February 15, 2014 - at the Glynnwood Retirement Residence in Thornhill. He was born in Whitley Bay, England and immigrated to Canada at age 9 with his mother and two aunts. He put himself through U of T Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 1942; then joined the army to serve in WWII. He was Captain with the Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (RCEME) and was part of the Holland liberation. He became involved in the plastic pipe industry after the War and was a member of the Canadian Plastics Pioneers. Chemline Plastics Limited was his passion, the business he founded in 1968. He was a charter member of the Donalda Club. He was predeceased by his wives Ruth (1983) and Pamela (2012); was loving father of son Richard (Karen) and daughter Valerie (David Burke) and step-father to Gerald Cavalier (Juliet) of London, UK. - Beloved grandfather of Julia, Carolyn, Geoffrey and Alyssa and step-grandfather of Justin and Christopher. A private funeral service was held on February 22nd for the immediate family.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the Donalda Club on Sunday, March 30th 12:00 - 3:00 pm. Tributes will be spoken at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.
