On March 9, 2024, our beloved Arlene K. Konkel peacefully passed away at the Villas at Sunny Acres in Thornton, Colorado. Arlene's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment to serving the Lord. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, dedication, and selflessness.
Arlene's journey began in Weld County, Colorado, where she was born to her loving parents, Margaret Weitzel and George Klein. Raised in a Christian household, Arlene's faith was nurtured from a young age. She graduated from Belleview Preparatory School and went on to earn her associate degree. Her educational journey continued at Alma White College in Zarephath, where she received her bachelor’s degree.
For thirty-five years, Arlene dedicated herself to teaching at Pillar of Fire Christian Schools, positively impacting the lives of countless students. Her passion for education was matched only by her devotion to serving others. For twenty years, she selflessly assisted the Pillar of Fire mission’s director, embodying the spirit of love and compassion.
Arlene's heart was deeply rooted in her faith, and she found immense joy in surrendering her life to God's purpose. She lived for many years on the Pillar of Fire Campus in Westminster, Colorado, where she continued to serve as a faithful servant of the Lord.
Though she has now passed into eternity, Arlene leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
In this time of mourning, let us find comfort in the knowledge that Arlene is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire us to live lives of faith and service.
Funeral services will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton, CO with interment to follow at Belleview Cemetery. All who wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of our beloved Arlene.
