

Barbara "Barb" K Reed, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 14, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 13, 1935, Barb lived a life full of love, dedication, and exploration.
Barb graduated from East High School and pursued higher education at Colorado College before transferring to the University of Colorado, where she graduated in 1957. Her professional career was marked by her work as a vision therapist for Dr. Lynn Hellerstein, where she made a significant impact.
Barb was married to Robert (Bob) Reed for 52 wonderful years until his passing in 2010. She is survived by her four daughters: Sally (Gary) Thomas, Julie (William) Oakley, Patricia (Trish) Reed, and Linda Reed. Her legacy continues through her seven granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
A woman of many passions, Barb was an avid gardener and a proud member of PEO and the Delta Gamma sorority. Her faith was an important part of her life; she was a member of St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church, serving as a vestry member and on the altar guild before her conversion to Catholicism on February 14, 2025.
Barb and her husband shared a love for genealogy and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. After Bob's passing, Barb continued to explore the world with friends, embracing each new experience.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity of Our Lord, located at 900 W. Midway, Broomfield, CO 80020, on June 5, 2025, from 10:20 am to 11:45 am; Rosary at 10:20 am, eulogy at 10:40 am, and Mass at 10:45 am. Following the service, an Entombment Service will take place at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anchor School for Blind Children, 2550 Roslyn St, Denver, CO 80238, in Barb's memory.
Barb's life was a testament to love, commitment, and the joy of discovery. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
