Ray passed away Friday night at Collier House in Wheat Ridge, CO. Ray was born September 26, 1925 in Honey Grove, TX to Claude and Nettie Cooper. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Ray was a certified optician. After working in TX and LA in the optical field he moved to Boulder, CO. He owned Ray Cooper Optical and other optical stores in the area. He also managed several optical shops.
Ray retired in 1988 and moved to Roswell, NM. He enjoyed playing golf as often as he could, traveling all over the world and especially in his RV. He was a pilot and owned many small airplanes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Owen, Mildred Barker, T. C., Mary Ellen, and John and James Cooper and former wife BJ Cooper. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years De Cooper, his daughters Molly Cooper and Kelly (Todd) Woessner, granddaughters MacKenzie and Maddie Spilman and Cassie Woessner, his two sisters-in-law Betty Cooper and Jo Cooper of Longview, TX and his special companion Daisy.
