Jeremy Meyer

Christie Anna Forrestal, 84, died Nov. 18, 2020, due to COVID-19 disease and Parkinson's disease.

Christie was an artist, a lover of art, a voracious reader and an empathetic listener. She was politically progressive, an intellectual, a gourmet cook and a foodie – among many other things. She loved humor, sarcasm and unusual foods that she called “New Taste Thrills.” She avoided complacency, run of the mill and anything that was artificial.

But most of all she was a caring mother. She loved her family more than anything in life, selflessly willing to drop anything if one of her children was in need. She doted on her three boys, loved her grandchildren, cared for her sister, cherished her nieces and cousins and adored their children.

Even in her waning years as Parkinson’s disease stole her balance, speech and ability to walk, robbing her of her bank account, tossing her from her home, pulling the paintbrush from her hand and slowly clouding her brilliant mind, her gentle brown eyes would always brighten and come alive when she heard her family’s voices. In art, she held a deep love of color, painting abstracts in acrylic and watercolor. Her pieces swirled with color, bright and always seemingly out of control.

She leaves behind three sons, Thomas R. Meyer of Everett, Wash.; Jeffrey Meyer of Auburn, Wash., Jeremy Meyer of Broomfield, Colo.; granddaughters Kristina Hallett of Everett, Wash.; and Abigail, Julia and Kathryn Meyer of Broomfield, Colo. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces Morgain Sanchez of Westminster, Colo.; and Bronwen Forrestal of Denver, Colo. She had many friends from the Seattle area and relatives around the country who loved her generous and caring nature. She will be deeply missed.
