Christina "Chris" Vigil

Born in Leadville, Colorado, to parents Fred and Mary Mondragon, Christina lived a life full of love, joy, and passion. A devoted wife, she was married for 44 years to Jose “Norman” Vigil, sharing a bond that stood the test of time. Together, they raised two sons, Gabriel Vigil (Stephanie Vigil) and Dominic Vigil (Shannon Shumaker), who brought her immense pride and joy, and she cherished the special bond she shared with her beloved grandson, Gabriel Vigil II.

Christina was the oldest of four sisters, a role she embraced with warmth and love, creating lasting memories with her siblings. Her love for music and dancing was infectious, and she was often found with a book in hand, enjoying the simple pleasures of reading. Sunshine, flowers, and dragonflies held a special place in her heart, and they often reflected the bright and vibrant spirit she brought into the lives of those around her.

A true sports enthusiast, Christina was a dedicated fan of all her home teams, with a particular devotion to her Denver Broncos. Game days were filled with excitement and energy, as she passionately supported her team.

Christina’s love, kindness, and beautiful soul will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Christina is survived by her loving husband Jose “Norman” Vigil, her two sons Gabriel (Stephanie) Vigil and Dominic Vigil (Shannon Shumaker), her grandson Gabriel Vigil II, her mother Mary Mondragon, her three sisters Valerie Mondragon, Michelle (Mike) Flores, and Paula Mondragon, multiple nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Predeceased by her father Fred Mondragon.
