

Donisio "Don" Alfredo Rael, a devoted family man, respected Air Force Veteran, and accomplished athlete, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024. He was born on September 17,1939, in Folsom, New Mexico, to Jose Ben Rael and Amalia Rael.
Don graduated from Pierce High School in 1959, where he excelled as a three-sport athlete, lettering in track, basketball, and football – notably as quarterback. His athletic prowess foreshadowed a life marked by dedication and achievement. This competitive spirit carried over into his later passion for golf.
On February 12, 1960, Don answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served with distinction as a medic, completing advanced medical training and earning certifications that allowed him to lead his own medical post in Germany and oversee clinics and emergency rooms. His 26, years, 11 months and 19 days of dedicated service culminated in his retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant on February 1, 1987. He was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ben Rael and Amalia Rael; his wife Pong Hui Rael; his brother, Guillermo Rael; and his sisters, Laura Padilla, Elaria Vasquez, Irene Maestas, his grandson, Skylar Vallejos, and Great Granddaughter Analisa Hernandez.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Julie Muñoz( Robert), Marlise Johnson( Michael) , and Kristina Rice(Alan); his grandchildren, Chris Graber, Sierra Vallejos, Dario Sarina, Lisiate Rael, Ryan Rice, and Mikayla Rice; his great-grandchildren, Daysia Castillo, Ariana Castillo, Isabella Sigala, and Elias Hernandez; and his great-great-grandchildren, Maleeah Nuñez and Xander Hawley. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Don’s life was a testament to unwavering commitment to his family, his strength, compassion, and country. His memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. A celebration of his life will be held on January 14, 2025 at The Immaculate Heart of Mary, 11385 Grant Dr., Northglenn, CO. 80233. We will begin with a viewing at 10:00 am., followed by Mass at 11:00am. . He will be laid to rest with Honors at 1:30 pm in Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 Kenyan Ave., Denver,CO. 80236 . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Alzheimer's Association
