Dr. Fred Vernon Brewer, Sr. left this earthly life and entered into his Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 4:20AM in Westminster, Colorado, three days prior to his 86th birthday. He was born on July 16, 1942 to Roscoe and Esta Lee Brewer in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1942, Texas Wesleyan College in 1944 and Southwestern Theological Seminary, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was ordained to the gospel ministry at the age of 19 at First Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas. He pastured churches in Texas, Colorado, Hawaii, West Virginia and California. He completed 67 years of pastoral ministry. Fred married Vivian Shirley Woodworth of Detroit, Michigan on October 6, 1944. She was a faithful and loving wife, serving alongside him in ministry throughout all their married years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, March 9, 2008. He is survived by his brother Roscoe Brewer, Woodstock, Georgia, and his children Vernon and Patty Brewer, Forest, Virginia, Debbie and Verle Binkley, Highlands Ranch, Colorado, April and Stan Nix, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and Daniel and Rosemar Henderson, Forest, Virginia and by his thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011, 10:00AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary, Thornton, Colorado. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, July 18, 2011 at Covenant Village of Colorado in Westminster, Colorado. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Strategic Renewal to provide Bibles and training for pastors in China.
