

Gary was born in Abilene, Kansas to the late Alfred and Goldie (Sears) Cook. He was one of five children born to this union: Eunice Kay Baker, Diana Rae Horton, Cheryl Leigh Cook and Jerry Clifford Cook. The family was proud of their Irish and Scandinavian heritage.
Gary met and married Johanna at the Jefferson County courthouse on Monday, October 18, 1974. They enjoyed exciting rides through the mountains, picnics and long talks. Gary and Johanna enjoyed each other’s company, sharing unconditional love, trust and understanding.
Gary and Johanna raised five children: Gary Donnell Cook, Jr., Debra Ann Kennedy, Robert Wayne Cook, Adam Bryce Boyer and Christopher Michael Cook; started two business, one that lasted way into his retirement. He’s remembered as a soft spoken, family orientated, very hard working, and strong willed person with a lot of grit. Gary was tough but fair. Having a good reputation was important to him.
He had two close friends: Floyd Pierce the Respect they also shared fishing; Doug Williams the Trust they also enjoyed hunting, golf and the shooting range. Both of Gary's friends preceded him in death.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Gary will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
