Gary was born to George and Bertha Schmidt at the United States Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, Maryland.
In 1957 his parents moved back to their home state of Colorado. Where they welcomed Gary’s sister Barbara.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, beer and listening to rock & roll.
His favorite pastime became cruising during the summer in one of his corvettes. Sitting outside on his patio taking in the nice summer nights.
He Loved his only child Chad Schmidt. They enjoyed several fishing trips over the recent summers.
Gary was proceeded in death by his parents George and Bertha Schmidt.
He is survived by his Son Chad Schmidt.

Nephew Justin/Sarah Schierkolk , Niece MaLinda/Grant Hollis
5 Great Nieces, 1 Aunt Bonnie Schmidt and many cousins.
A funeral service for Gary will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Graveside service to follow service at Olinger Highland Cemetery
