He married and had his first born, Vikki. He then was drafted and served in the army from July to November 1945. He was honorably discharged. His first wife, Vernell, died in an auto accident. Howard found love again and after only a sixteen day courtship married Mary Lucille Webb in June of 1946.
His working career consisted of 10 years at Eaton Metal, and 17+ years with Standard Oil. He then retired due to work related injuries. Howard was a "jack of all trades", with plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry and mechanical skills.
Howard was a beloved husband, a wonderful Father, who was affectionately called Gramps and Grandpa by loving grandchildren and great-granchildren. He was always a helpful friend and special to those who called him "Pappy". We will love you forever, and will always hold you in our hearts as God now holds you in the palm of His hand.
