

Jess moved to Denver, Colorado in 1952 and eventually settled in Broomfield, Colorado in 1961 after opening his own business “Valdez Concrete.” Primarily serving the Broomfield area, Jess constructed custom foundations and did concrete finishing for custom home builders for over fifty years. Jess was known for his expertise and ethics in the building community.
In 1983, Jess married Pat Castillo and remained in Broomfield. Jess enjoyed building construction, using his creativity in woodwork, landscaping, fishing, archery and riding his Indian and Harley motorcycles. Jess was known for his generosity and acts of kindness toward all he came in contact with.
Jess was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings. Jess is survived by his wife of 41 years; Pat Valdez, children; Patsy (Michael) Goyette, Ruben Valdez, Jeff (Sefnee) Manzanares, Ryan (Kali) Manzanares, his grandchildren; Jessica (Mark) Chavez, Michael (Shawn) Hoskins, Christina (Steve) Mansfield, Annabelle (Carter Volk) Gallegos, Reanne Manzanares, Riley Larusso, Sofia Manzanares, Nora Manzanares, Jonah Manzanares, his great grand-daughter; Emy Beren and many nephews and nieces, all of whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of life for Jesus will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
