
Joan (Joni) M. Baker died at her Broomfield home on December 6, 2015 following a lengthy Illness. She was born March 23, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland, lived the majority of her childhood in Maryland and Indiana. Moved to Colorado in 1970. She attended Butler University in Indianapolis and McAllister College in St. Paul, MN. Joan was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Herbert Baker of 52 years.
She is survived by her sons James C. Baker (Dorothy) and Jay Herbert Baker (Dawn), both of Broomfield, Jack M. Baker of Lochbuie and Jon W. Baker of Homoserssa, Florida, her sister Jane M. Sebald-Smith of Thornton, 6 grandchildren: Jennifer, Chelsie, Nicole, Rob, Jake and Jamison, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and special friend Bob McCoy.
Joan served the City of Northglenn, Colorado as Municipal City Clerk for 20 years before which she worked as Legal Secretary for the City. She was most proud of her accomplishment of receiving the City Clerk Certification, her involvement with the International Clerk Association, and the accomplishments of the four sons who whom she and her husband raised.
She was an avid bowler, enjoyed golf and other sports, reading, and ran the Youth Bowling program in Broomfield Lanes for many years. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and everyone who knew her.
Services will be at Olinger Highland Mortuary on Friday December 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Senior Resources, 280 Lamar St., Broomfield, CO 80020
