Joe M. Vigil, age 81, of Thornton, Colorado passed away on Sunday April 28, 2019. Joe was born Thursday, January 13, 1938. He had the pleasure of sharing his life with his loving wife, Thelma. They were married on December 15, 1962 in Antonito, Colorado. Together they created a beautiful, quick-witted, hard working family comprised of 7 children: Sam Vigil, Robert Vigil, Gerri Santistevan, Chris Vigil, Tony Vigil, & Anita Maestas. Carrying on Joe's legacy are his siblings: Ross Vigil & Mercy Martinez; Joe's 20 grandchildren, & 19 great grandchildren.
Those beloved family members that passed away before Joe were his parents: Felipe Vigil & Ramona Vigil; one daughter, Monica Barela; and his sister; Eva "Pat" Martinez.
A visitation for Joe will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 3:00 PM with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel located at 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. The Funeral Mass will occur Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church located at 9371 Wigham Street in Thornton, Colorado.
