John Herman Mewis

John is survived by his three daughters: Jaccie Goff(Tim), Debbie Townley, and Lesle House(Ralph); eight grandchildren: Angela Mewis, Joshua Goff, Nancy Goff, Amber Fanshaw(Walt), Jeremiah Townley(Jenny), Billy Townley(Ashley), Devin Morris, and Kim Ortiz(Manny). John is also survived by: five great grandchildren: Jordan Daniels, Michael Loflin, Matthew Loflin, Lexi Loflin, and Victor Ortiz. He is also survived by one sister, Wanda Moyer(Michael) and several nieces and nephews who he truly loved.

John is preceded in death by is wonderful wife Nancy Mewis, his parents Edward and Marjorie, three brothers Donald, Gayle and Thomas, and two sisters Dorothy and June.

John was a Veteran of the US Navy. He retired in 1976 as a 1st Class Signalman. One of his hobbies was reliving special Navy memories with a friend and a cup of coffee and/or a cold Miller.

John never met anyone who didn't soon become a dear friend. John had two very special friends who have become very dear to his family; Tim Tymkoich and Dave Graber.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will take place on January 4, 2017 at 10:00am at the Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel located at 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado. Inurnment will take place with full military honors directly after the memorial service at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
