Joshua Wayne Mathews

The majority of his first 7 childhood years growing up was spent in the mid-west in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. He enjoyed and loved life with his 2 younger brothers Jon and Zach. He lived his middle and high school years in Thornton, Colorado, where he graduated early from Thornton high school. He loved playing football starting in the Thornton junior football league until and including his starting/ ending on the varsity high school team as a first string big tackle for the Thornton Trojans.

He gave his life to his Lord Jesus Christ during his high school days; and he loved participating and being fully active in his church’s junior high and senior high youth groups. He was a strong youth group leader and traveled to Africa and Spain on missionary endeavors. After graduating early from high school, Joshua attended 1 year of college at Baptist Bible college in Springfield, Missouri.

While there, he met and married Alana Konnerup in 2005 and in their first year of marriage, their daughter, Brooke, was born, then their son, Joel, was born 2 years later. Joshua worked a few jobs in the Denver, CO area and finally settled in and enjoyed working a career in the airline industry beginning with Frontier Airlines, Skywest Airlines, United Airlines, and lastly with Menzies - a subcontractor for United.

Joshua is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Muriel Mathews; and survived by his children Brooke and Joel Mathews; parents, Rod and Patricia Mathews; brothers Jonathan (Rowena) Mathews, Zachariah Mathews; grandparents, Richard and Jean Jones; nephew and niece, Bennett and Delaney Mathews; former wife, Alana (JK) Hill, and many other relatives, friends, and co-workers.

He loved his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, his family, his friends, and his life on this earth which ended too pre-maturely. Joshua Wayne Mathews is greatly missed here by all, and he is eagerly awaiting a reunion in Heaven for all of eternity with all of us who have put our faith and trust in The Lord Jesus Christ.
