Juan Acosta Calderón

Juan’s kindness, funny and hardworking character will be missed by all, so… “Enjoy life at every age, stop worrying about what you can’t control and kick it in the ass every day!”

His legacy is not only his family, but the many buildings in Colorado that bear his mark as Foreman and Master Brick Mason. Juan was a perfectionist at his craft, and he was always proud to say that he could scan the Denver skyline and know that he had left his imprint for future generations to admire. One of his joys was the work that he and his brothers did on the expansion of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Denver, CO, where he had served humbly as Parish President.

Juan was born in Tlazazalca, Michoacán, Mexico on August 13, 1939. His parents were Miguel Jose Jeronimo Calderón Camacho and Maria de Jesus (Jesusita) Acosta Villarreal Calderón.

He is survived by his loving wife Maria Paz Calderón, sons Juan (Mary), Martin (Adelicia), daughter Patricia (Vincent) and grandchildren Marisa Calderón, Eleisia & Elijah Lobato and Gabriella & Sofia Calderón, along with his brothers and sisters Jesus (Julia), Jose (Chuchena), Maria Villaseñor, Maria Guadalupe “Lupita” Madrigal (Armando), Pedro (Rosa) and Alfonso. He is also survived by his many cousins, nieces and nephews living throughout the United States and in Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Jesusita, brothers Miguel, Antonio, Daniel, sister Delfina and many other loved ones.

Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 21st at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, in Thornton CO. Interment will follow in the cremation garden.
