Kelly was a native Coloradan, born on February 15, 1977. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1995 then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001, from Denver University (DU). Kelly enjoyed her years at DU and became the first sophomore to become a resident assistant. After graduation Kelly pursued a career in Human Resources and later in life, she became the proud owner of her own businesses (MailXpress and BuildASkiBike.com). Kelly was an avid animal lover and throughout her life had many pets that included her bunnies, birds, and her beloved dogs (Mowgli, Mabel, Melvin, Millie [fat dog], Charlie and Piper).
Kelly was certainly her own person with a strong opinion and high aptitude for research and the law. She loved country music, especially George Straight. Most folks don’t know this about her, but she loved to dance, especially to 80’s music just sliding around in the living room without a care in the world.
Kelly is survived by her husband of 12 years Kris Klockenteger of Commerce City, CO; parents Jerry and Barb Johnson of Loveland, CO; sister Julie of Loveland, CO; brother Matthew of Denver, CO; aunt/godmother Wanda (Randy – godfather) of Denver, CO; Aunt Sandra (Mike) of Boulder, CO; Uncle Lee of Wittmann, AZ; Uncle Al (Janine) of Littleton, CO; Uncle John (Risa) of Parker, CO ; nieces Paige of Winder, GA; Sydney of Pine, CO; nephew Zack (Scarlet) of Winder, GA; mother-in-law Gloria of Newcastle, DE; sister-in-law’s Kathy (Bruce) of Allen, TX; Karla (Marc) of San Diego, CA; and Erin of Woodstown, NJ.
She was preceded in death by great grandparents Fred and Helen Lebsack, grandparents Beverly and Bill Gilmore, Jim and Geneva Johnson, and father-in-law Larry Klockenteger.
A 30 minute celebration of life will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery: 10201 Grant St., Thornton, CO on Friday, November 8 at 12:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to your local animal rescue in Kellys honor.
