Linda Hassel, 78, of Northglenn, CO passed away peacefully at her assisted living home in Westminster on Thursday, June 1st. Linda was devoted to her family, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Linda grew up in Grand Island, NE to parents Melvin and Beulah Poore. She had two older sisters: Janice and Judy. She told us about running around in the same circles with a boy named Danny who would eventually become her husband of over 50 years. He was the love of her life, and they were meant to be together. They had two sons, Mark and Tim. She stayed home with the boys for most of their youth and went back to work when they got older, first, in retail at JCPenny, and then as a merchandiser. She was always a devoted mother, going to ball games and cheering the loudest on the sidelines. As the families grew and grandchildren came along, she was just as devoted to the grandkids, Jennifer, Stephanie, Gregory and Hannah. She was proud of each of them and talked about them to everyone. Family meals, holidays, traveling, and sleepovers were all very important to her and spending time with her family.
In 2006, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and the last few years were very challenging ones. The disease took a toll on her physical abilities and would become very difficult emotionally also. Losing her beloved Danny was very hard for her in 2021. She will be remembered for the deep love of her family.
She is survived by her sons Mark (Lisa), Tim (Ellen), grandchildren; Jennifer, Stephanie, Gregory (Taylor), and Hannah, great-grandchildren; Addeline and Olivia, and her sister, Judy (Ken).
