Louise Kawakami passed peacefully at her home on February 11, 2019. She is survived by her daughters Carol Sneddon and Elaine Smith, her brothers Roy Mori and Robert Mori and her grandson Benjamin Smith. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Kawakami, her brothers Yoshio (John) Mori, George Mori, Johnny Mori, Jim Mori, and Tom Mori, her sisters Molly Miyahara, Grace Nukaya and June Mori and her grandson Jack Sneddon.
Funeral Service will be held for Louise at 10:00am on March 1, 2019 at Olinger Highland Mortuary Chapel located at 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, Colorado.
Louise was born March 31, 1916 in Atwood, Colorado. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1936 and moved to Denver shortly thereafter. She attended the Emily Griffith Opportunity School and obtained a beautician license. She was a member of the Simpson Methodist Church where she met Charles Kawakami. Louise and Charles were married in Denver on September 9, 1945. They moved to Lakewood in 1974 where she lived until her passing.
The family is eternally grateful for the love and care she received from her hospice caregivers Scott, Stacy and the rest of the team at Compassus.
