On a cold, windy day on January 26, 1917, Orilla and Carl Meeks welcomed their firstborn into this world. She was a spunky little girl that they enjoyed so much. Carl played trombone with Orilla at the piano. With the money they made teaching others, they paid for piano lessons for Majorie. Majorie only took five lessons then she took off! Before long, she was teaching her brothers and sisters as well as others. She taught Carlene, Sammy and Cliff. She felt this was her lifelong calling to many others until she was 98. Majorie graduated from Lubbock High in Lubbock, Texas. Soon she met Roy Grussendorf and knew he was her love. They got married 12 days after they met on December 27, 1920. They left to move to Glendale, California to attend L.I.F.E. Pacific College. She graduated with honors. On July 18, 1944 they welcomed Carolyn Esther to their family followed on April 16, 1950 by Marilyn Marlene. They felt their family was complete. Carolyn and Kenneth Westfall had no children while Marilyn had two: Eric Jonathan and Teresa Marlene. Eric had Jonathan, Dylan and Steve and Teresa had Joshua and Jessica. Jessica had Victoria and Anthony. On July 9, 2015, Majorie went to be with her Lord and Savior. After years of pastoring churches in Lubbock, Texas and Denver, Colorado at 1001 S. Clay, Majorie and Roy started churches in Roswell, New Mexico and Lubbock, Texas which are still going strong today. Carolyn followed her mother by teaching music. Marilyn today with Michael Nolan are living in Raton, New Mexico. Having the love of so many, and loving every one around her, Majorie decided to go home to be with her Lord and spread more love there. She was totally at peace with life here in Denver when she left us on July 9, 2015. May God know the desires of her heart and bless her with all of them.
