Thornton, Colorado. She was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado on November 13th, 1933, and resided
at Elms Haven Care Center in Thornton, Colorado. She graduated from Adams City High School in
1951 and received a Bachelors degree in Education from Denver Baptist Bible College in 1955.
Marilou was a lifelong Christian school teacher and loved her profession very much. She delighted in
playing board games, putting together jigsaw puzzles and solving crossword puzzles. Marilou enjoyed
following Denver sports teams on television, even when they didn't do all that well. She'd always say
"Next year they'll do better". An accomplished seamstress, she made many of her own clothes,
as well as repairing clothes for others. Years earlier, she enjoyed attending stock car races at
Fort Morgan and Erie, Colorado, and even did the lettering on one of the race cars there.
She was a long time member of Adams City Baptist Church and School and Elmwood Baptist
Church and School, and taught at both schools.
Marilou was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Hazel Johnson, and her brother Elbert.
She is survived by sister Carolyn Zetterman (Rick), sister-in-law Sharyn Johnson (Elbert), nieces Christina
Johnson Sundin (Bruce), Cynthia Johnson Rowe (Jason), Richelle Zetterman Healy (Ian), great-
nieces Brittany Jackson (Greg), Melissa Sundin, Ashley Sundin, Courtney Munda, Lindsey Munda,
Caitlin Healy, Great-nephews Patrick Healy, and Zachary Healy, and many friends and former
students.
Marilou was loved by one and all and will be sorely missed.
