Miss Johnson was important to our lives as a teacher and a friend. She touched & influenced so many lives, the world is different because she was in it. I'm happy to know her pain & suffering are over & she's with the Savior she served so well for so long.

When I met Marilou Johnson it was obvious she was a woman of deep faith and a teacher at heart. My prayers continue with her family in these days of grief knowing that she is at peace with her Lord in that mansion He built for her in Heaven.

Miss Johnson was such a huge part of my life. She taught me in my more of my school years than not and remained a great friend of my mom so was always a part of our family and life. She always had that twinkle in her eye when she would tease or that raised brow when I would push a little too far.  I am glad she is no longer suffering.  I am honored to have had her be such a role model and influence for me as I grew up. She is missed!

Miss Johnson was a very special lady, she taught me to read. It wasn't an easy job. It took me until 4th grade to get it. But with her persistence I became an avid reader, she introduced me to Nancy Drew, The Sugar Creek Gang and many more. I love to read today and am always in search of a good story! On the last time I visited her, she had me bring a story book I wrote for my grandkids, and she was so encouraging. Imagine a girl with dyslexia writing a book all because a teacher saw in her what she couldn't see in herself.  We shared a love of telling family stories to the next generation. She also helped my Uncle Mick write his books. She was a lifelong friend to our family having gone to high school with my dad and Uncle. She was the most encouraging person I have ever known. I am so sorry I will miss her and her memorial service, but I like to imagine her running, jumping and dancing in heaven with Jesus! I know I will see her again.

Thank you, Aunt Marilou for being such a huge influence on my life, and the lives of my kids. You'll be proud to know that they are as much sticklers for spelling as you were! There are so many memories I want to share, piano practicing in the basement, spending summers with you and Grandma, and so many others that I can't pick just one, so I'll just say thank you for everything, and I miss you and Grandma so much. <3

Miss Johnson was by far my favorite teacher of all time. She was stern, strict, and fair. But you knew she loved you. She has been a steady influence in the life of all the Mitchell family and I know we will all miss her very much, but she is exactly where she wants to be - in the arms of Jesus!

Miss Johnson was a very precious soul and special teacher.  She never said an unkind word to anyone.  I can remember sitting on the edge of my chair hoping that she would be assigned to my classes for the new upcoming year.   I can close my eyes and hear her reading a Sugar Creek Apple Dumpling Gang story.   Miss Johnson gave me a love for grammar that I have carried with me all my life.  God bless her soul.  She impacted many people with her kindness and godliness.

Miss Johnson will forever be the most special of all teachers that ever taught a "Mitchell". I remember her bursting out laughing when my father asked her why all his kids did so bad at "ponics"...she will be remembered. "She opened her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue was the law of kindness." (Proverbs 31:26)

Marilou was my Dearest, Christian Sister.  We met in 1962 when I started going to Adams City Baptist Church.  She taught all 3 of our children,  and loved them as her own.  I'm proud to call her my Friend in the LORD.  I miss her,  but I know she is with the LORD, and not sick any longer,  and we'll be together again one day.  Thank you, LORD, for such a Friend.

Marilou was a great teacher and I met many of her previous students.  She was loved by all who crossed her path.  I'll miss you Marilou, see you when I get to Heaven.

Early Days with the Home Bible Clubs, Chalk Talks at Church for kids, teaching at the Christian Day School, former neighbor up the street bring many memories.  She had a pleasant way to reach out to young people and to all her friends young and old.  The Lord has blessed her life with influences for God's purposes in glory.  She had other health obstacles in times past to overcome, God worked through these times and now to this point.  She is resting and residing at Home in Glory with those who have gone before.  She will be remembered for her impact.

Miss Johnson was my favorite teacher and she will sure be missed. Looking forward to seeing her again one day. She was a great impact in my life and many others.

She was a great lady and will be missed. Her positive impact on all her student's lives will be felt for many generations.
