Mick Mitchell

Harry Brainard “Mick” Mitchell Jr., 80, of Brighton Colorado, passed away on October 15, 2014 with family by his side. Loving husband and friend of Rita Mitchell; loving father of David (Debbie) Mitchell, Steven (Mitzi) Mitchell, and Marjorie Mitchell; loving grandfather of Tiffany (Shawn) Moss, Miranda (Dylan)Baker, Ashley Mitchell (Mike Reed), Jonathan (Gina) Mitchell, and Timothy Mitchell; loving great-grandfather of eleven. Mick was a loving brother to Charles “Bud” Mitchell whom precedes him in death.

Mick was born on October 23, 1933 to Harry B. Mitchell, Sr. and his wife Florentine during the height of the Great Depression. From the very beginning he was a gift to his family. Though he grew up poor, his family always found ways to find the bright side of things and he carried that attitude on to his own family. Mick was a third generation Coloradan. He was one of the three founders of Mitchell & Sons, which manufactured Mitchell campers for many years. Life revolved around his family and his family business. Boisterous and full of life; he was easily remembered. Mick took his family on many trips all over the USA and Canada in Mitchell campers. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren came running to him when they saw him. After he retired, Mick wrote several books with stories about his family. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on October 21, 2014 at Highland Mortuary in the Chapel.
