Mike Shelby

Michael "Mike" Ray Shelby, age 58, of Northglenn, Colorado passed away on Saturday, September 11th, 2021. Mike was born March 7, 1963 in Denver Colorado to Melvin and Wanda Shelby. He will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and colleague to all that knew and loved him.

Mike was a man of many passions but none of them compared to his love of Denver sports teams. He had been attending games since he was 5 years old and could tell you any statistic that you could imagine. When he wasn't attending sporting events as a spectator, Mike was playing them. He participated in the Special Olympics for many years and won many gold, silver, and bronze medals. He was particularly skilled in basketball and bowling, and proudly displayed his accomplishments. Among his other passions, Mike also loved gambling and playing videos games. His family remembers taking many trips to Reno and Las Vegas Mike was nothing short of a hard worker. He dedicated 21 years to working at Pizza Hut and that dedication did not go unnoticed. Even when he wasn't at work, cooking was a passion that he learned from his mom. His family will always remember his famous spaghetti.

Mike is survived by his father Melvin; brothers, Melvin & Mark; sister Melissa; nieces, LeAnna (Calvin), Rachel, and Sonya; nephew Jordan, and great-niece and nephew Conrad and Zella along with many other family and friends.

A visitation for Mike will be held Wednesday, September 22nd from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery. Funeral services will begin at 11:30am with a committal service to follow at Olinger Highland Cemetery.
