Milton Davis Luke passed away peacefully just short of his 95th birthday at his home in Denver, Colorado on November 12, 2022. He is now at peace with his beloved wife Nancy Lee Luke who preceded him in death on April 5, 2009.
Milton grew up in a much simpler time, where the family farm was plowed by a mule, the bathroom was an outhouse, and water came from a well. His brother, Herman Luke, expressed on multiple occasions that Milton was not cut out to be a farmer. So instead of being a farmer, Milton pursued a career in the Army.
While both were stationed in Washington D.C., Milton met his future wife, Nancy, and were later married on the family farm on September 10, 1957. Milton's military service saw deployments to both Korea and Vietnam. During his time of service, Milton received several medals, ribbons, and accommodations. Milton retired from military service in 1975. The family is enormously proud of their service to our country.
Milton loved fishing and hunting. He had a great passion for playing cards, billiards, and cooking for guests. However, his favorite pastime by far was visiting with family, friends and telling stories.
He is survived by his children, Davis (Bevan) Luke, Bernice Luke, Milton R. (Joan) Luke and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren, John, Anna, Nancy, Angelica, Davis, Jaeger, Falcon, Brandan, Nicholas, Phoenix, Phillip, Donatella, Mackinzee, Jayden (17), Leonardo, Natalie, Andrew, Maleea, Alexis, Ezekiel, Scarlett, Lilah, Scarlette, Archer, and Brinley, as well as Robin Mann and his other amazing nieces and nephews.
He was not only loved by his direct family but many who considered him a part of their family- especially John Boyle and John Vasquez. Really, anyone that had the opportunity to sit and chat for a moment with him will always think fondly of him and consider him a great friend.
God Bless You Daddy, Grandpa, Great Grandpa. Your love, friendship, advice, and guidance will be missed. Your stories will never be forgotten. You will live in the memories of others, as they will be continually passed through friends, family, children, and great grandchildren. We Love You!
