Norman (“Nick”) O’Kelly, born August 10, 1944 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a husband, father, Mason, musician, and man of humor, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 peacefully at home. With his family, he was listening to Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, conducted by one of his favorites, Eugene Ormandy.
He is survived by his wife, Diedra, daughter, Alison, son Brendan (Tara Fickle), and many beloved family members and friends. He is also survived by his Masonic and Shriner brothers, bandmates, and his volunteer cohorts at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
On Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM a Masonic funeral service, Rose Croix, and musical tribute will be held at the Denver Scottish Rite Consistory, 1370 Grant Street. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, virtual attendance is available and encouraged. An indoor/outdoor Irish Wake will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at City Park Recreation Center, 10455 Sheridan Blvd, Westminster.
