Patsy Stevenson (Pat) of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away on Thursday, December 30th, 2021, at her home in Broomfield, Colorado surrounded by family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, great grandmother, and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on April 18, 1934, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Harry and Ethel (Dutch) Malaby. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1952 and married the love of her life, Glen Clive Stevenson on April 11, 1954, in East Carbon, Utah.
Pat was a homemaker known for her unconditional support and love for her family, listening to everyone’s problems and serving as wise counselor. She was a savvy financial manager of her household and went on to receive her Associates of Arts degree in Accounting in 1991. Pat never met a stranger. She was a social butterfly who told stories with much embellishment and loved to laugh. As an Air Force wife, she was a loving supporter of her husband of 53 years, Glen Clive Stevenson. They had an extraordinary life of adventure together and were stationed at Air Force bases in California, Tennessee, New Mexico, and Germany. Pat had many hobbies including sewing, even crafting her daughters’ wedding dresses. She also enjoyed many crafts, crossword puzzles, sudoku, collecting clowns (much to the horror of her grandchildren), and travelling. She was a lousy fisherman because she talked too much and scared off the fish, but was also a great cook and baker, a dedicated classroom volunteer and campfire girl leader, and a faithful servant of God.
Patsy Stevenson is survived by her children - daughter, Cassie Robinson of Broomfield, CO, son, Chris Stevenson of Westminster, CO, son, Perry Stevenson (Julie) of Gilbert, AZ, and daughter, Pepper Mueller (Brad) of Greeley, CO; grandchildren - Jamie Carpenter, Josh (Desiree) Robinson, Eric (Melinda) Stevenson, Zachary (Tara) Stevenson, Rachel (Michael) Troyan, Cole Mueller, and Bennett Mueller; great grandchildren - Dezmen Robinson, Shane Buonamici, Dillon Urland, Chloe Urland, Abigail Stevenson, Aero Stevenson, Zoey Stevenson, Asher Troyan, Ivy Troyan; a sister, Joan Murphy, sister-in-law, LeIsle Watkins, brother-in-law, Curtis Stevenson and many nieces and nephews across the United States. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Clive Stevenson, sisters Nancy Bowlby, Lois Evans and brothers, Randall & Perry Malaby. Pat is also survived by her grand dogs who miss her – Paisley and Pluto – who received far too many treats from her.
The memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 22nd at Olinger Highland Mortuary 10201 North Grant Street, Thornton, CO with a reception to follow. Internment will follow at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, CO at a future date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
