Richard Emmett Glen Jones, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2022. He was born October 30, 1929 at his home (34th & Humboldt), Denver, CO to the late William & Helen Jones.
Pat, as his dad affectionately nicknamed him, grew up in the Denver & Englewood areas. After high school he joined the Army and served in the Korean War. He met his future wife at a dance in downtown Denver. He and Wilma Jean Harlow were married May 13, 1955. They resided in Northglenn after purchasing a new house in 1958 for $12,000.
Pat accepted Christ in the early 60’s after Jean invited a blind evangelist, Bill Renstrum into their home to witness to him. He was faithful to his Lord & Savior.
At the age of 12, he had his own paper route. He was a hard, loyal worker. After the war he went to work as a diesel mechanic. At one point he was laid off and as a result, ran his own gas station at 49th & N Washington. When the opportunity arose, he went to work for CDOT for 29 years, retiring as Shop Foreman at the main facility in Aurora, CO.
Pat is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean of Northglenn; children Glen (Debra) of Wheat Ridge, Mark (Peggy) of Idaho Springs, Larry, of Thornton, Patsy Mathews (Rod) of Thornton and Paul (Tiffany) of Northglenn.
He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
