Richard Velez was born to Zulma Cortes/Martinez & Jose Hernandez on August 27, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in Southern California. He began working his first job at 10 years old (delivering the newspaper) for the Daily Press. He graduated fron High Desert High School. He was the proud father of 8 beautiful children. Throughout the years these children became the love of Richards life. Richard liked to work, he enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done. He also played hard, no one could ever accuse him of wasting time. Rich was the life of the party - or maybe he was just the loudest. Richard enjoyed traveling, friends, family, & dancing. Survived by grandmother Arvea Perez, step-father Louis Rodriguez, mother Zulma Cortes, & brothers; Angel Velez, Anthony Velez, Hector Velez & Micah Adams, children; Richinda Velez, Nicholas Velez, Amanda Velez, Blayne Byers, Jacob Huddleston, Breanna Velez, Roman Velez, & Samantha Greco; grandchildren, David Pollard, DeManco Greco, Ayva Flores, & Anthony Flores Jr..
