Robert Leroy Green

Robert Leroy Green was born July 16, 1936 to Joseph Green and Ione Ehler Green. He left this earth on February 5, 2022. He graduated from Brighton High School and although was offered an athletic scholarship to Colorado State University, he chose to stay home and farm and dairy with his dad. He was called up for the Korean War, but because he was farming, he fulfilled his duty to his country by serving in the Fire Department with the Colorado Air National Guard at Buckley Airforce Base.

He married LeEtta Sue Bonar on March 27, 1965. They were married for 29 years before she passed away in April of 1994. He married Donna La Motte on August 7, 1999.

He was a member of the West Adams County Volunteer Fire Department, Good Shepard Methodist Church, Eastlake Congregational Church, and the Adams County Fair, where he served as Beef Superintendent for many years.

He is survived by wife Donna LaMotte, his daughter Denise Grisham (Mike), stepdaughters Laurelyn Baker (Jon Sirkis) and Christine Peacock. Grandchildren Faith Odom (Zachary), Cole Robert Grisham, Zack Zimmerman (Alexis Moran) Amanda Zimmerman and Alexie Sirkis and great granddaughter Adalyn Denise Odom. Sister Janice Reitzenstein, Brother-in-law Walter Stoufer, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers are Cole Grisham, Zachary Odom, John Docheff, Joe Docheff, Jay Docheff and Steve Walters.

Honorary Pallbearers Jim Docheff, Ed Durland, James Green, Jim Rupp, Gary Skeels and Sam Dunham.

Services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Olinger-Highland Mortuary located at 10201 Grant St, Thornton, Colorado. Graveside will immediately follow the service. In true Green fashion, the family would like to invite all those who attend to join them for lunch immediately following the graveside service. The luncheon will be held at the Good Luck 4-H Club Building located at the Adam County Fairgrounds.
