Robert Jay Kentfield

Robert (Bob) Jay Kentfield was born August 5, 1934 to Larry and Lucille Kentfield in Souix Falls, SD. He met Carol June Hartwig while attending high school in Norfolk, Nebraska. They became high school sweethearts and married on February 7th, 1954. They spent their life together on the road, managing his trucking business.

Bob and Carol were blessed with 4 boys: Scott, Rod, Mitch, and Stuart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and sons. A beloved family tradition was taking his boys pheasant hunting around Thanksgiving in Norfolk, Nebraska. He was fortunate to live in a cabin built by his parents in Grand County overlooking Lake Granby for a bit, enjoying precious time on the lake. He also spent time in Texas and Arizona with his family before moving to Westminster, CO, where they settled in the house he called his home on Knox Court for many years.

Bob was a pilot of small private planes. He loved to fly and had many entertaining stories of his flight adventures. He also enjoyed working on model planes. In his later years, Bob took solace in creating beautiful wooden plaques with his scroll saw. He enjoyed his weekly Saturday visits with his long-time friend, Dean. Bob and Carol were long members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, as well as active participants of their camper caravan. He truly loved his Boston Terrier dogs that showed him unconditional love: Shadow, Boomer, Missy, and Pepper. He passed peacefully in his home with Pepper and his family nearby on February 7th, 2025.

Bob was preceded in death by: Lucile Hansen (mom), Larry Kentfield (dad), Lou Treffny (stepdad), Carol June Kentfield (beloved wife), Jan Kentfield (Rodney Kentfield).

Bob is survived by: Ron Kentfield, Jeryl Petersen, Randy Kentfield, Scott Kentfield (Nadine Kentfield, Jennifer Lindsay, Bryan Kentfield, Steven Kentfield), Rodney Kentfield (Stephanie VonFeldt, Colleen Levy), Mitchell Kentfield (Rebecca), Stuart (Sandra Reyes, Stephanie Valdez, Justin Kentfield, Kevin Kentfield, Darren Kentfield), and 11 great grandchildren.

A viewing for Robert will be held 10:00am, Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Funeral Services will follow at 11am, also at Olinger Highland Mortuary. Interment will be at Olinger Highland Cemetery. At the conclusion of the burial, a 2pm, reception will be held at 8040 Knox Court, Westminster, CO 80031.
