Occasionally, we are comforted by the warm calming rays of the sun. You feel the light lift the burdens weighing on your heart. Laughter, happiness, and peace all feel possible. Seferina P. Romero is that sunshine for many people. She left this Earth, May 11th, 2024, surrounded by love.
Seffie knew she was returning to the arms of her “mama and daddy”, Victor Rael and Lena Santistevan. She was happy at the thought of seeing her brother, Victor's, smile again. Seffie also took comfort in knowing she would again see Antonio, her husband. Their love inspired the love of others. Together they built a home and a family. As a mom, Seffie was the epitome of tenderness and patience. Antonia, their daughter, remains here to carry Seffie's love. Seffie's son, Antonio, was on this Earth only for a brief moment. But imagine the joy she feels holding her baby once again.
The love of a sister is an unwavering gift, a hand to hold, a voice of reason, and cause for fits of laughter. Seffie had not just one sister, but 6, Betty, Connie, Vicky, Deanie, Darlene and Lena. Six more hearts that will ache as they wait to meet Seffie again. She was so deeply loved by many more, sister-in-laws (Jessica), brother in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and her goddaughter.
Her light never dimmed. Seffie's kindness radiated through her. She was always a listening ear and a peacekeeper. She was soft spoken, but knew when to speak out. Ask any of her nieces or nephews. Our lives will be forever changed with her absence, but the sun will always be near to remind us of how she brought light into so many of our days. Seffie would say, “I love you hita/hito. Be patient. Be good. God bless you.”
A memorial service and celebration of life for Seferina will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
