

Sharon was born on September 26, 1953 to George and Mary Smith in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Shortly after, she moved to Rangely, Colorado, where she spent most of her childhood years. In 1969 Sharon moved to Kimball, Nebraska where she met Bob Box. A year later she moved to Sterling, Colorado where she graduated from high school in 1971.
In 1973 she married Bob, who had joined the Army. They then moved to Aurora, Colorado where their son Bobby was born in 1974. While stationed in Ludwigsburg, Germany, their second son Chris was born in 1976. In 1978 the family was stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco, California where Sharon worked as the secretary for the chief engineer of Letterman Army Institute of Research. In 1984, she moved with the family to Northglenn, Colorado. She worked as an accounting supervisor for an office equipment company until she was medically retired in May 2000. Immediately after retirement she joined the Northglenn Rec center and began exercising daily to combat symptoms of Huntington’s Disease. While able, Sharon loved to camp, travel, and support her grandchildren’s activities. She inspired everyone around her to be better people by encouraging them to be nice.
She is survived by her spouse, Robert “Bob” Box II. Her sons; Robert “Bobby” Box III, Christopher “Chris” Box (Heather Popovich), her grandchildren; Christopher Box II, Jesekah Erives, Hanah Box, Julia Box, and Megan Box and her siblings; George Jr, Paula, Mark, and Michelle.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Mary, her father George, and her sister Becky Johnson.
Services for family and friends will be at Olinger Highland Mortuary in Thornton, Colorado on Wednesday March 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM. There will be a reception after services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America.
The family would like to thank Huntington's Disease Society of America, Rocky Mountain Movement Disorder, and the people at the Northglenn Recreation Center for the care and compassion they showed Sharon throughout her battle with Huntington’s Disease.
