Sherry Ann Sawatzky passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2021 at her home in Thornton, Colorado at the age of 61. She was born Sherry Ann Coulter to parents, Ernest and Ida Lucille Coulter, in Klamath Falls, Oregon on March 1, 1960. She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Elmar Coulter; and her sister, Lori Eastridge. She is survived by her mother, Ida Lucille Coulter; her three children, Jessica Lydia Romero, Jason Paul Romero, and Jennifer Kay Romero; her brother, Gary Coulter; two nieces, Candance Hrubes and Shandell Eastridge; three grandchildren, Anastasia Romero, Isaiah Romero, and Michelle Romero-Chunes; and multiple cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Sherry had an affinity for nature and loved camping in the mountains. She loved to spend time around rivers, lakes and oceans and had a fondness for dolphins, hummingbirds and butterflies, which is evidenced by her extensive butterfly collection. Her love for camping took her and her family on several trips throughout Colorado, Alaska, California and North Dakota where she often took her beloved pets. She enjoyed music and frequently went to rock and heavy metal concerts. She loved food and enjoyed cooking for friends and family, especially for holidays as she always appreciated time spent with loved ones.
Her family will celebrate her life according the wishes stated in her will, with a cremation and planting of her ashes into a tree and planted in the mountains, preferably next a river. Per her request, no memorial service will be held, and we will honor her with an online memorial hosted by Olinger Funeral Home that will serve as an online repository for those that would like to post a memory, prayer, or photo.
