Steven Mark Vilven

Steven Mark Vilven, 61, of Thornton, CO, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2022, in Highlands Ranch, CO. The son of David Owen Vilven and Joan (Larson) Vilven, Steve was born in Farmington, NM, on October 26, 1960. Steve was married to Carmen Imelda (Medina) Vilven on May 20, 2018.

After graduation from Farmington High School, in Farmington, NM Steve studied at New Mexico State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1986. Steve enjoyed his career as a software engineer for Avaya in Thornton, CO for 35 years. Steve enjoyed music, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, David Owen Vilven and Joan (Larson) Vilven. Steve is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his two sisters, Susan Nichols and Sharon Neuhaus (Steve’s twin); his wife Imelda Vilven of Mazatlán, Mexico, and their family including her three children, and three grandchildren: Imelda (Alejandro) Julien, and two children Nicolás and Hannah; Fernanda Espinoza (Jorge Gracia), and child Mila; and Claudia Espinoza (Oscar Godoy). Steve was very close with his family and enjoyed spending time with them in Colorado and Mexico. Steve will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews with whom he was very close as well.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery – Highland located at 10201 North Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229. A reception will follow. Steve’s family welcomes all to attend and to join them in remembering his life.
