Sumiko (Sumi) Fukuma passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the age of 90. She lived a long and loving life, always putting her family first. There will be a private family memorial service followed by a committal service. All services will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
Sumi Ito was a Colorado native, born (1931)and raised in Littleton, CO until she moved north to the suburbs of Denver. She married Paul Fukuma in 1952. They were happily married until his death in 2011. She is preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Paul, her parents, brother and two sisters.
She is survived by daughters Pamela Barr (Jeffrey), Karen Fukuma (Thomas Finan), and Sandra Reed (Kenneth). Granddaughters Jill Walker (Daniel), Robyn Sunata (Angelo Romero), Nicole Finan (Kyle Dowd), Alexa Reed and Angela Reed. Great Grandchildren,Logan Walker, Madelyn Romero and Ella Walker. Sister, Matsuno Ito and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
