Viola "Vi" Rufo

Viola “Vi” Rufo died peacefully at St. Anthony’s Hospital on March 2, 2016 in Westminster, Co. at the age of 87. Born in New York, she had lived the past 9 years with her daughter and son-in-law Ceceil and Ken Fried in Thornton Colorado. Vi worked for the Township of Jackson New Jersey just shy of thirty years doing payroll for all local government departments. She was at her happiest when she was traveling visiting Italy, Greece, Germany, and as far away as Japan and China. She also enjoying traveling with her daughter (Ceceil) and son-in-law (Ken) on cruises to Italy, the Panama Canal, Alaska and Canada. Viola was an avid reader and also enjoyed watching classic movies.

Viola is survived by her daughters, Ceceil Rufo-Fried of Thornton, Co. and Carol Lynn Thor of Brick, NJ and 3 grandchildren, Stephen, Shannon and Daniel; She is preceded in death by her son Lawrence in 1997, daughter Celeste in 2014 and Steve Rufo in 2014 .

A funeral is scheduled for 6:00 pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery at 10201 Grant Street Thornton, Co. with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Viola’s life.
