Virginia (Vee) Vee May Cole

Vee married the love of her life, Charles (Smokey) Merle Cole on Sept 16, 1944 and was happily married to him for 44 years before he lost his battle to cancer in Jan 1989. Smokey and Vee lovingly “hatched” a bunch of younguns in this union, Kay Newton, Merle (Tom) Cole, Earl (Jerry) Cole, Danny Cole, Clayton (Clay) Cole, Rodney Cole, Rebecca (Becky) Brooks, and Wade Cole. To this loving family there were also added 36 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

She was a fulltime mother and homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them. She was always surrounded by her loving family. Her family was the most important thing in her life and being surrounded by them was her greatest joy. She loved fishing with her late husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to crochet in her younger years before her sight started to fail. She was always making and crafting loving items for her children and grandchildren. Reading was her favorite pastime as well as playing the piano.

Although she was born in Denver, Co, she lived the majority of her life in Yampa CO. She loved the mountains and was able to spend quality time with Smokey and the family enjoying what they loved the best, FISHING and camping.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 grandchildren and her siblings. Grammie as she was known to most people will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her. She will be forever in our hearts and in our minds.

A memorial service will be held on Wed. March 6, 2013 at 7pm in Vee’s memory at the Christ the King Fellowship Church 12015 Irma Dr, Northglenn, CO 80241.

Thurs. March 7, 2013, 4pm-7pm, there will be visitation at the Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery 10201 Grant St., Thornton, Colorado.

Funeral Services will be Saturday March 9, 2013 at 2pm at the Baptist Church in Yampa, Colorado and Internment will be at the Yampa Cemetery.
