Bobbie Jack Girard

Bobbie was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Joseph and Betty Girard. He married his wife Zeta in 1951, and was married 25 years, until her passing in 1976. They are survived by 4 children: Yvonne, Daryl, Rhonda, and Kim, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Bobbie was an Al Kader Shrine member since 1972. He was Flag Patrol Captain, and Commander and Treasurer of the Flying Nobles, a group of Shriner pilots. He believed in the mission of the Shrine, that of providing for our hospitals for children.

Bobbie received the highest level and rank in Oregon Wing of Civil Air Patrol. He was Wing Commander for the State of Oregon in 1977, and in charge of Search and Rescue missions directed by the Air Force.

His joy was flying, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He was laid to rest with military honors at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on October 5th. A memorial service will be held at West Hills Christian Church, 3824 SW Troy St., Portland 97219, on November 5th at 1:00pm. Visit youngsfuneralhome.org for more information and online condolences.
