Charlene Rae Sherer

Charlene Sherer passed away unexpectedly on June 24th, 2023.

Charlene was born to Fred and Liberta McDonald in Vanport Oregon in 1947. She grew up in Lebanon OR, and Paradise, CA before returning to Oregon and graduating from Wilson High School. She spent her entire adult life in Oregon, raising a family and doting on her grandchildren.

She was the mother to three sons, David McCart (Ami) of Scottsdale AZ, Casey McCart (Sara) of Fort Mill SC and Kevin McCart (Allison) of Phoenix AZ. She was also an amazing grandma to Alex, Peyton, Mallory, Lily, Ries and Willa. She was extremely proud of her sons, daughter-in-laws and loved her grand children more than life itself.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Sherrie Sheffer. In addition to her sons and grandchildren, she leaves behind her brother-in-law Russ Sheffer and nephews Scott and Michael.

Charlene was a dedicated employee of the Ball Janik law firm in Portland where she worked as a legal assistant for nearly 30 years, before retiring in 2017. She was passionate about her job and really enjoyed working for firm partner Jack Orchard.

She loved trips to the Oregon coast and spending time with her family. She was an extremely thoughtful person who always spent countless hours planning special events and gifts for birthdays and other family events and celebrations. She loved her family unconditionally.

Charlene had amazing style accompanied by a big and fun personality. She was a very thoughtful and caring person to all that she knew and loved.

Our Mom left all of us far too soon and will be greatly missed. We love you forever Mom and know we will eventually see you on the other side. We will think about you every day, knowing that you are watching us from above.
