The family of Dean Frederick Richards, of Seaside, Oregon is saddened to announce his unexpected passing on July 18, 2025, in Portland, Oregon. He was 74. Dean was born in Portland, Oregon on October 2, 1950, to Robert Dale Richards and Barbara Fulton Richards. He was a devoted father to his son Edward and loving husband to Kathie of 53 years.
Dean was a graduate of Oregon State University and a loyal Beaver. He found joy in fishing and clamming on the Oregon coast where he retired following a career as an Engineer for ESCO, Portland. He was a member of the Seaside American Legion and the Seaside Elks Lodge.
Dean was a man of strength who lived life large. He will be remembered for his love of family and God and country, his fun sense of humor and big bear hugs.
A Celebration of Life will be held in October on the Oregon coast.
