Diane Elaine Purkey was born July 24, 1943 to Leonard and Eleanor Cook. She was born in Portland, Oregon. Diane lived most of her life in Tigard, Oregon. Diane graduated from Tigard High School. She married LeRoy Kociemba and they quickly settled into raising a family of seven children: Dean, Peter, Rick, Dan, Don, Tami, and Todd. She is preceded in death by her son, Peter.
Diane later in life married Denny Purkey on April 26, 1991. They adopted a baby girl named Amy Sue Purkey and shared a life full of love, Rotary events, owners of Purkey’s Tax office; participated in Royal Rosarians; shared Holidays with family, and lots of traveling the world.
After her beloved husband Denny passed away, she continued to take care of her family the best way she knew how. She opened an antique store in the bottom of her Tax office and enjoyed filling it full of treasures. The last five years of her life were a struggle but she enjoyed living with her son Dan and their dog, Precious. She loved to shop, especially antiquing or Dollar Tree, eating out and visiting family whenever they could was a highlight. Family was always the heart beat of Diane and she wanted to be the “hands and feet of Jesus” to those who needed to see the Savior’s love the most. She will be missed but thankful she’s in no more pain or sorrow, living a life with her Lord and Savior.
