Eddie Francis Greenwell

Eddie F. Greenwell was born on May 17th, 1956 in Portland Oregon to Charles Greenwell and Mary (Webber/Greenwell) Larson. He graduated from Tigard High School in 1975 and worked for Tube Forgings of America for 40 years before retiring in 2018. He raised one daughter, Alexandria (“Allie”) R. Greenwell.

Eddie lived most of his life in Tigard, Oregon, where he created lasting friendships with countless members of his community. He was well known for always making time to stop and talk to neighbors and friends. To many, Eddie was a friend whom they could always depend on for help, a shoulder to lean on, an adventure, or laughter and a smile.

Eddie was also known for his love of animals. He loved to watch and feed wild birds, squirrels, and took special care of a feral cat population at his work, where he would make time to bring them food any day of the year – including Christmas.

Eddie’s most proud accomplishment was his daughter, Allie, and the two of them were inseparable. He taught her to find joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing for crawdads just to let them go, watching airplanes land at the airport for hours, or going for a ride in the pickup truck with no destination in mind. He also taught her that love and family comes in many forms, such as the neighbor down the street or an animal who needs a home. Her most valuable lessons will always be that giving is far greater than receiving, and to believe in herself unconditionally as he always did.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Greenwell, his mother, Mary (Webber/Greenwell) Larson, his sister, Teresa (Greenwell) Jacob, and his best childhood friend, Paul Wagner. He is survived by his daughter, Alexandria (“Allie”) Greenwell, his little white dog and best friend, Jack, best friend Tara (Middleton) Cote, his sisters Louise (Greenwell) Burnett and Judy (Greenwell) Franzen, several nieces and nephews, members of the Wagner family, and countless other friends he made along the way who he considered family.
