Frederick August Naujock, 71, returned to his heavenly home on October 15, 2017. He was surrounded by loved ones, and was at peace through his firm belief in God, forgiveness, and the healing power of love.
Fred was born to the late Claude and Evelyn Naujock, a tool and die maker and homemaker respectively in Illinois on September 25, 1946. Fred was raised in West Covina, CA. He was a talented vocalist, guitarist, swimmer and diver through his younger years. He served honorably in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Tutuila and her swift boats as an engine machinist, and insisted on wearing his veteran hat at any outing. He became a master metal and wood worker after the war, and an accomplished business owner and adviser through his adult years. He was a lover of history, politics, animal tending, gardening, people and especially a good joke.
Fred was blessed with a loving family, and an enviable marriage of 30 years to his ‘angel’ Gina Brigida Naujock. Fred is survived by his wife, Gina; his sons Matthew, Marcelo and Derek; his daughter Jennifer; his brother Claude; and many beautiful grandchildren.
Fred will receive an honorable military burial at the Willamette National Cemetery at 10:30AM on October 23. The family gratefully declines flowers, but graciously accepts donations to any veterans organization in Fred’s name.
