James was a very passionate man. When he had an interest, he had a lot of passion towards it and gave it his all. His first interest was photography, then he was intrigued by cigars, (collection from his 20s still exists), kites, Mustangs, searching for gold (also collecting gold coins) also collecting and shooting guns. Those close to James know that these are just a few of his interests, learning new things was always a joy to him.

He took this diagnosis in stride and with his loving wife by his side went through two batches of chemo and radiation along with research treatments at OHSU until the cancer had taken over too much of his body. Once the research treatment could not go on any longer James entered the care of hospice.
