Kathleen Mary Ryan of Tigard, Oregon passed away on January 21, 2016 after a brief and valiant fight with cancer. Kathie was born on February 18, 1950. Beloved daughter, sister and friend, Kathie’s kindness was joined by her unwavering loyalty to friends and her open-hearted desire to help people. She thoroughly enjoyed her house, her yard and the simple pleasures in life. Kathie enjoyed playing pool, scrabble, crossword puzzles and reading. Living most of her life in the Portland area, she had a wealth of close friends. She spent the last eight years working at Tuality Hospital, where she developed a wonderfully warm relationship with coworkers at the hospital. She particularly loved to travel, making visits to Ireland, the United Kingdom, France and Mexico. Kathie is survived by her brother Brian Albro and his husband Mark of New York, Rick, her loving companion and friend for the past twenty years and countless friends. A viewing for friends and family will be held Thursday, January 28th from 1-4 p.m. at Young’s funeral home in Tigard. There will be a community Celebration of Life on February 18th (her birthday) at a venue to be announced.
