Larry, one of six children was born to Arthur and Helen "Dot" Speight. He attended Metzger Grade School and Tigard High School. He joined the US Army at the age of 17. He was married to Margaret Smith in April, 1964. They were married over 47 years. He was a member of the Sherwood Elks and American Legion. Larry was self-employed for many years, and owned Valley Yard Supply for 25 years. He was also co-owner of Sherwood West.
His passions were his family, fishing, working on his property, visiting with old friends and making new friends.
Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Margaret; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Daniel Jones; daughter Lori Speight; and his grandchildren Jory and Brandi Jones; sister Linda Butler; brothers Donald and Ricky Speight.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roland and William.
